| Remarks: | The first flight of the Me-163A took place from Ausburg on September 1, 1941. On October 2, 1941 a Me-163A flown by Heini Dietmar, reached 1.003 km/h becoming the first pilot in the world to break the magic mark of 1.000 km/h. The Me-163A's engine proved to be too unreliable so another engine was needed. This resulted in the Me-163B, that flew for the first time on June 1, 1943. The Komet was originally built by Josef Kurz as a glider replica of the Me-163B. Kurz himself was in training for Komet service, but the end of the war prevented him from flying the real thing. Construction was started in 1994, and registered as D-ESJK the first flight was made on June 18, 1996. In 2000, Kurz' replica was sold to EADS in a non-airworthy condition.
